Working long hours and feeling like you have no time for yourself is something that I’m certainly familiar with. When I used to work in an office, I would work 8-12 hours a day, driven to get things done and achieve my objectives, and then I would get home feeling exhausted, with no energy for me, even to cook.

It’s not how I wanted to feel and it frustrated the hell out of me – surely there had to be more to life than this?

A tip for now is to consider changing the way you think about time. Whenever you catch yourself saying you don’t have time for something that matters to you, change the statement and say instead:

‘It’s not a priority’

See how that feels? When we consider the idea of priorities, it’s easier to demarcate our time and start to see the time that we place somewhere as an investment rather than a spend.

Where are you putting yourself in your priority list?

You are important. Even if no one has told you that this year. You are.

Your wellbeing is important, seeing yourself as important will enable you to grow. Not as something that you can put off, delay or feel that there will be a better time.

There will never be a ‘good time’. There will never be ‘enough time’. We only get results from the action we take.
